Every Thursday morning, we'll have fresh, delicious, locally-baked loaves of sourdough and cakes dropped off from LOAF Micro Bakery. We know where we'll be on Thursdays from now on! Pair it with a fresh cup of locally-roasted French Press Coffee Roasters brew or Westholme Tea and take a stroll through the Marketplace. Pretty quick you'll have supported a whole array of Vancouver Island small businesses.

Get ready for another amazing night of music featuring some of Vancouvers best at 2nd Floor Gastown. Thursday March 12th we have none other than The Shone Band gracing our stage!

The Shone band are a local group of musicians, based out of Squamish B.C., playing folk rock. Some soft, some not so soft, but all friendly:). The band consists of Vocals,drums, lead, bass and rhythm guitar. We've come together from various backgrounds, to bring this all original music to life. Sure to be enjoyed by all ages and musical taste.

Get ready for another amazing night of music featuring some of Vancouvers best at 2nd Floor Gastown. Friday March 13th we have none other than The Dutch Robinson Experience gracing our stage!

Dutch Robinson is a trailblazing soul singer, songwriter, and performer whose career spans over five decades and two countries. As an original lead vocalist of the Ohio Untouchables, the band that later became the iconic Ohio Players, Dutch helped shape the gritty, gospel-infused sound that would influence generations of funk and soul artists. His powerful vocals can be heard on early recordings like “Trespassin’” and “Love Is Amazing,” tracks that laid the groundwork for the band’s later mainstream success.

After parting ways with the Ohio Players in the late 1960s, Dutch embarked on a solo journey that led him to Canada, where he continued to evolve as both a recording artist and a live performer. His solo albums, including “Nothin’s Got Me” and “Freedom,” showcased his dynamic vocal range and deep social conscience, with standout tracks like his stirring rendition of “People Get Ready” earning him international attention.

A multi-dimensional artist, Dutch also made his mark on the theatrical stage, starring in productions such as Ain’t Misbehavin’, and collaborating with gospel choirs and jazz ensembles across North America. He has remained an influential presence in the Canadian music scene, particularly in Nova Scotia, where he’s celebrated not only for his artistic contributions but also for his community activism and mentorship. Nightingale North is a dynamic West Coast jazz band from the vibrant city of Vancouver, BC. Comprised of seasoned and professional musicians, this collective brings a fusion of traditional jazz, blues and funky covers to the forefront of the music scene.

Get ready for another amazing night of music featuring some of Vancouvers best at 2nd Floor Gastown. Sunday March 15th we have none other than The Bad Pennies gracing our stage!

The Bad Pennies formed in Vancouver, BC, in the fall of 2022, when Jeff Baker (guitar/vocals) and Mark Milner (bass) began jamming together in a rehearsal studio at Pandora’s Box. In early 2023, Jim Reid was recruited as the drummer for the band. In June 2023, the band entered the BC Blues Challenge to begin building an audience.

After the live performance round of the competition, the Fraser Valley Blues Society invited The Bad Pennies to represent the society, and by extension the province, in the band category at the 2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, where they played a number of Beale Street clubs, including the venerable Rum Boogie Café.

After their return from Memphis, the band recruited a fourth member. Hailing from Mexico City, Francisco Bonilla (guitar, vocals & percussion) plays electric and slide guitar. Jim Reid left the band in August, 2024, and was replaced by our newest Bad Penny, Guenter Schulz, on drums

Clara is an eclectic jazz pianist and vocalist, born in Shenzhen, China, and now residing in Vancouver after spending most of her life in the United States. Her musical style is a vibrant fusion of cultural influences she has absorbed over the years. Clara will be performing with her friend, cellist Emilio Suarez, at the 2nd Floor Gastown, showcasing a genre-defying duo performance that spans classical melodies to the rhythmic energy of old-school swing jazz and the bold creativity of fusion jazz.
